Shellac

Its my first time trying out shellac and I can't decide whether I like it or not; I mean whether I would pay $30+ to do it again. Shellac is a newly introduced alternative to gel nails and so basically you wouldn't be able to diy unless you have perfect painting skills, uv lamp dryer and the 3 products (base gel, colour gel, topcoat gel). In terms of how it looks, it doesn't look any different to that of a regular manicure but the idea that its supposed to last up to 3 weeks may be to some, worth it.
Personally, I would probably never do it again.

Initial pros and cons of shellac:
Cons:
1. Too pricey. Though it differs depending on the salon, I wouldve had to pay 35+tax.
2. I am quite impatient, so impatient that I just stick to polish changes and not even the full manicures. And shellac takes roughly 45min.
3. Excessive shellac-ing will ruin the health of your nails. I already felt a tightening sensation while I was baking my nails in the uv dryer, and my nails are friggin hard as rock.
4. My nails tend to grow super fast so even if it did supposedly last 3 weeks, I would have this ugly gap between the colour and my cuticles.
5. To remove it, u need to soak it in like professional acetone and not the wimpy drugstore ones.
6. It lasts up to 3 weeks but that don't mean it won't chip. In fact it has started chipping ever so slightly around the edges.

Pros:
1. Since it lasts up to 3 weeks, it would be ideal for vacations.
2. No need to sit under the dryer after. I can't stand just sitting there doing nothing.

Honestly, I can't think of anything else that's good besides it lasting longer. And based on customer reaction, it seems like one of those things where you either will love it or hate it. So check it out for yourselves and see if it works well for you, and if not, at least you will know.

This week I have on a dark grey from CND, I don't really know what its called but to my surprise, I quite like it. Sometimes it looks green or blue depending on what it contrasts with, but for the most part I like to think that it's grey.

3 days later: No chips yet.
10 days later: Even after filing, Im quite impressed there's no chipping on the tips.
But the top part started peeling off on my right hand :(
